- Home and Business Networks (HBN) Business Development:
This position is responsible for growing and sustaining the Business in the specific Activities: both as individual activities / products but also as part of broader Architecture. Primary measurements will be revenue, market share and gross margin.
This position is responsible for understanding and be a Domain expert in specific Activities under focus and work with other Domain experts in his/her team. Domain expertise would include understanding the landscape from the Customer all the way to suppliers / vendors including Routes to Market, Various business models, and of course the 4 P’s (Product / offer, Prices, Place and Promotion) needed to defend and grow in the market.
Job will include products investigation, market opportunity analysis, business case development, technology assessment, planning, feature definition and providing competitive analysis. He/she will have to manage product launches and transition planning, execution and sustaining, either creating or asking for creation of various tools like product specifications and positioning documents, conducting tactical competitive analysis, developing customer programs, managing product end-of-life transitions and preparing customer messaging for product issues when necessary plus other offerings throughout the product life-cycle, and pricing will also be the responsibility of this position. Also, many times, these tools will come from Global teams but deployment will be key responsibility of this team.
Most of the time, this position will work closely with HBN Line of Business (LOB) Regional Offer Manager located in Japan, and most of the work ownership of market research & analysis, business case creation and new product offer management for Japan market mentioned above are in the scope of HBN LOB. So this position may support LOB for these works, if demanded.
・Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Engineering or Science an advantage) or Master/ MBA is preferred
・At least 8 - 10 years working experience in the IT /UPS industry, preferably related to Business Development, Business Management
・International experience / Experience in a regional role is preferred
・Should be able to show cases of having developed new Businesses developed individually (preferred) or with primary responsibility to size of around 3 to 10 Million US$ from scratch where the person was the Primary driver
・Transactional business to deliver component products through leveraging distributors/resellers/OEMs (preferred)
・Marketing skill: Market Segmentation and Customer targeting, 4 P's of Marketing - Product, Promotion, Pricing and Place (Distribution and Go to Market)
・Thorough understanding of product positioning, pricing structure, product launch and transition and competitive analysis
・Excellent written and oral communication skills in Japanese and English
