The Business Consultant will report to the VP, Strategic Projects whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to business review management, investor and rating agency reporting, and management consulting. The Strategic Projects Office reports to the Japan Regional COO.
Consultants will drive the execution of critical engagements and reporting needs for the Japan Senior Leadership Team related to the responsibilities above and project manage strategic initiatives. In support of engagements, consultants will conduct interviews, perform research, gather and analyze data, structure problems, develop story for and write reports and presentations, and perform other project-based work.
Consultants are expected to contribute immediately in all phases of an engagement including initial client meetings, project management, project delivery, and implementation and continuously develop broad knowledge and capabilities related to the industry and all aspects of **** Japan’s business. Qualified individuals can expect to develop general business management and specific consulting skills as well as insurance industry experience. In addition, consultants will obtain exposure to various areas within ****’s business. Consultants must display maturity and professionalism and be capable of working with groups and individuals from all levels in the organization.

・Fluent in English and Japanese
・A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional work experience
・Degree from a highly respected or a “highly competitive” U.S. academic institution (as ranked by Barron’s), or an equivalent International four-year university. MBA or similar post-graduate degree is preferred

Executing currency swaps transactions (in relation to the newly approved swapped bond projects), interest rate hedges for the insurance portfolio. Working with Morristown PMU/derivative/bond trading teams to manage our swaps book. Execute risk management derivative trades for hedge accounting qualification. Provide market intel on trade timing and to assist product development in designing/pricing of appropriate product hedges. The position role will eventually expanded to cover Asia ***** operations on their hedging and product design needs.

【Qualifications】
・Unversity or higher education, professsional qualifications will be a plus

【Experience】
・Currency & interest rate instruments trading experience (Swapped bonds, Interest rate swaps, structured product, and insurance portfolio hedging).
・Preferably had worked in the insurance industry.

【Skills】
・Currency swap markets, derivative pricing platforms, rate instruments trader, and insurance knowledge (a plus)

【Language】
・Japanese native with good English conversational and writing skills

* Participate in various audit projects including financial/investments/actuarial audits and special assignments of a highly complex and/or sensitive nature. In particular, engage in the audits that cover:
1. Integration risk, asset risk and underwriting risk management processes
2. Processes and operations of the asset management, accounting and actuarial functions based on local regulatory
(FSA) requirements and/or instructions of **** U.S.
3. Japan statutory (J-GAAP) and MetLife group reporting financial closing processes
* Partner with and communicate audit issues with operating line management and the senior management, and help them to develop appropriate action plans
* Prepare professional audit reports in a timely and accurate manner
* Assist or communicate with the local regulatory bodies and support their audits
* Perform administrative work from day-to-day operation

【Experience】
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in auditing or finance
* Preferably, experience in the life insurance industry and accounting firms

【Skills】
* Advanced (for Japanese) and intermediate (for English) written communication
and documentation skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Computer skills (MS Word, Excel)

【Qualifications】
The following qualifications would be preferred:
* CPA (Japan or US), CIA or CISA
* Working knowledge of the audit function
* Good analytical competency
